Magnus Orrebrant points out, among other things, that there are a lot of deer and wild boar in Skåne.

The wolf could help keep the ungulates down, he says.

- We see that the wolf is a game warden.

The wolf is a good predator on ungulates.

Magnus Orrebrant does not see the fact that Skåne is densely populated with many roads as a problem.

He refers to Germany which has more wolves than Sweden.

- And there are more roads and more densely populated than in Skåne.

The wolf will not form territories where there are a lot of people as it avoids humans as much as possible, he says.

Disputed issue

Mats Bentmar, then regional manager for Skåne and Blekinge in the Swedish Predator Association, told SVT Nyheter Skåne earlier in January that he does not want to see a wolf territory in Skåne.

It would be a shame for the wolf if it established itself in Skåne, said Mats Bentmar, who just pointed out that it is so densely populated here compared to many other parts of Sweden.

According to Bentmar, reports of many wolf attacks in Skåne would lead to people all over the country having a more negative attitude towards wolves.

Since then, Mats Bentmar is no longer regional manager in the Swedish Predator Association.

His views on the wolf issue do not agree with the association's.

- If you do not think the same, it is appropriate to go different ways, states Mats Bentmar.

"Less strain on nature in Germany"

Regarding the fact that there are a lot of wolves in densely populated Germany, Mats Bentmar says this:

- In Germany, you do not have the right of public access and thus not the same burden on nature as in Sweden.

The wolf must be left alone to feel good.

If the wolf is left alone, our livestock can also be left alone.

Opinions differ on whether a wolf territory is suitable in Skåne:
