The People's Strength Nomination Management Committee today (26th) announces the candidates for the preliminary contest for nomination of candidates for the Seoul and Busan mayors by-election.
The Mission Committee held a meeting at the National Assembly this morning to compress candidates for the preliminary contest based on document and interview screening.
Over the two days of yesterday and yesterday, 14 applicants from Seoul and 9 from Busan were interviewed.
After going through the preliminary contest, the Korean Consulate is planning to compress the finalists in each of Seoul and Busan.
If two or more rookies are included in the preliminary contestants, one out of four tickets to the main contest will be returned to the rookie candidate according to the'Political Rookie Track'.
Meanwhile, Ahn Cheol-soo, CEO of the National Assembly Party, visits the Seoul Election Commission this morning and registers as a preliminary candidate for the mayor of Seoul.
