Munich (dpa) - The ailing lighting company Osram has increased its annual forecast thanks to a faster recovery in its sales markets.

In terms of revenues, growth of between 10 and 14 percent is now expected for the current 2020/2021 financial year instead of between 6 and 10 percent so far, as the MDax Group surprisingly announced in Munich on Tuesday.

The adjusted profit margin before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) should now be 12 to 15 percent (previously 9 to 11 percent).

The AMS subsidiary cited the “even faster recovery in several markets and very strong business development, especially in the Automotive (AM) and Opto Semiconductors (OS) business units” as well as the fruits of the savings and efficiency programs.

The new forecast is based on the assumption that there will be no further Covid-19 lockdowns or significant disruptions in the supply chain.
