Munich (dpa / lby) - The Bavarian health authorities reported 760 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day.

There were also 102 new deaths within 24 hours, as the RKI announced on Tuesday morning.

Five districts in the Free State were above the incidence value of 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week.

The Bavarian front runner was the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge with an incidence of 294.5, followed by the districts of Tischenreuth and Passau.

On Monday, seven counties and cities had exceeded the 200 mark.

In Bavaria, 391,863 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 and 9,773 corona deaths have been reported since the beginning of the pandemic.

For municipalities with an incidence value over 200, the 15-kilometer rule applies.

Thereafter, their residents are only allowed to go on excursions within a radius of no more than 15 kilometers.

It comes into force automatically for the first time as soon as the RKI reports more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week in urban or rural districts.
