Mannheim (dpa / sn) - Dynamo Dresden had to accept its sixth defeat of the season without its ill coach Markus Kauczinski.

The leader of the 3rd soccer league lost 0: 1 (0: 0) to Waldhof Mannheim on Tuesday evening.

Rafael Garcia scored the decisive goal for Mannheim with a penalty in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

Dynamo had to get along without the head coach, who has been in the university clinic since Monday due to malaise and nausea, and the long-term injuries Marco Hartmann, Chris Löwe, Patrick Weihrauch and Robin Becker, also on the two yellow-banned Yannick Stark and Tim Knipping.

Dynamo struggled against the well-tiered home side.

The team, supervised by co-trainers Heiko Scholz and Ferydoon Zandi, only shot once at the Mannheim goal in the first 45 minutes.

But Marvin Stefaniak's shot from almost 25 meters was as harmless as the entire attacking game in Dresden.

Even in the second round, the front runner remained without any noteworthy offensive action.

But because Mannheim didn’t bring much together in the game, it remained a goalless draw until stoppage time, before Kevin Ehlers fended off the ball in the penalty area with his hand in the 93rd minute and Garcia converted the penalty.

Ehlers was sent off with red, as was the 65th minute Dynamo captain Sebastian Mai, who was punished for assault.
