Munich (dpa / lby) - After the snow comes the water: The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of heavy rains and rising water levels in the Alpine regions of Swabia and Upper Bavaria.

From Thursday to Saturday, meteorologists expect a thaw and heavy rainfall in locations between 600 and 1800 meters above sea level, as the DWD announced on Tuesday in Munich.

Due to the heavy rain and the large amounts of snow, which then melt, there could be local flooding, said a spokesman.

But it is still too early to make precise forecasts.
