Antdorf (dpa / lby) - A car flew 25 meters through the air in a serious accident on Autobahn 95 in Upper Bavaria and landed in a group of trees.

The two inmates died, the police announced on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old from Munich left the autobahn on Monday with his car near Antdorf (Weilheim-Schongau district) for a previously unknown cause, was thrown over a blocked parking lot and catapulted into the air over a guardrail.

The driver and his 20-year-old co-driver were trapped in the car when they hit three meters above the ground.

This was so deformed that the rescue workers could not help them.

The two died at the scene of the accident.

They could only be freed after the fire department cut the car out of the trees.

The motorway was closed for several hours at the accident site.
