Berlin (dpa / lby) - A Berlin police officer has been arrested by his colleagues as a suspected robber, burglar and thief.
The 30-year-old man is said to have stolen a smartphone and stolen a car in Bamberg and then broke into a jewelry store, the police announced on Tuesday.
On January 19, civil investigators from the Berlin criminal police arrested their colleague when he tried to sell the stolen smartphone at the Westhafen S-Bahn station in Moabit.
An alleged accomplice of the same age as the police officer, who had long been reported sick, was also arrested.
The criminal police and the Bamberg public prosecutor's office had investigated intensively and were able to track down the two men.
