The first month of the year is bloody in Nîmes.
The city has indeed experienced a new shooting, after that of January 18 in the district of Pissevin which had resulted in the death of a young man.
The drama this time occurred in the popular district of Mas de Mingue.
A 17-year-old teenager was fatally injured there on Monday evening, thus also the victim of a shooting.
The teenager died after his transfer to the emergency department of the CHU de Nîmes, confirmed the vice-prosecutor of the Republic of Nîmes Patrick Bottero.
Also two injured
The shooting, shortly after 7 p.m., also left two injured: another teenager, found on the scene as soon as help arrived, and another young person discovered later, more slightly injured, still in the neighborhood.
The shooter (s) have not yet been arrested.
A vehicle, which may have been used for this operation, was found set on fire nearby later in the evening.
The investigation, entrusted to the judicial police, was opened for "murder and attempted murder in an organized group, criminal conspiracy and destruction by fire".
