The documentary "Estonia - the find that changes everything" was published in September 2020. During the creation of the documentary, the film team sent down a diving robot to examine the ship, whereupon they found a hole in the side of the hull.

The first time the law is tried

After the sinking of Estonia, the then government enacted a special law that peace should prevail at the wreck.

And it is for violation of that law, in connection with them sending down the diving robot, that Henrik Evertsson and Linus Andersson are now being prosecuted.

This is the first time that the law has been tried in court and the question is not what has happened, but whether what happened was criminal.

The trial, which begins on Monday in Gothenburg District Court, is expected to take two days.

Both men deny any wrongdoing.
