Jan Färingö, who lives in a district in central Umeå, says that they have had one or two deer visiting the garden, but that this was the first time a reindeer came to visit.
- We have dug once for the bird feeders, deer usually come sometimes and check for food.
But it barely made it (the reindeer), there is so much deep snow, says Färingö who filmed the reindeer from his kitchen window.
They discovered the reindeer at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
- Anita shouted: "Jan, there is a reindeer on our farm", I thought it was a deer.
He continues:
- I stood inside and filmed, but there were a lot of people standing and watching the reindeer, people walking on the bike path stopped and watched.
He says that the reindeer repeatedly tried to get out on the road, but each time people came and passed by, whereupon they were frightened and ran back into the yard.
The reindeer remained in the garden until late on Saturday night.
