January 25, 2021The Recovery Plan "is the opportunity of a lifetime: it must be used not only to address the damage suffered by the pandemic, but also to address the weaknesses that Italy has long had. Reforms are also needed: faster justice, a More efficient pa, less tax evasion ".

So Paolo Gentiloni, EU Commissioner for the Economy, in an interview broadcast by Tg2 Post.

"This crisis could end very badly, even for Italy, if this health crisis were to turn into a social and financial crisis", said Gentiloni, speaking by videoconference at an event of the Pd section of Belgium.

"So far it has been possible to spend" without particular negative repercussions "but it doesn't necessarily last forever," he explained.

Gentiloni therefore urges to fully exploit the potential of EU aid to ensure that this crisis ends "very well".
