A man is accused of having fled in his vehicle, Friday evening, in the town of Grau d'Agde (Hérault), while trying to escape a control by the municipal police, reports

Midi Libre.

The police had, a little earlier, tried to control the individual, suspected of not respecting the curfew established because of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In his mad rush, the driver, in his twenties, finally hit a traffic sign, bringing his vehicle to a stop.

He would then have taken the powder on foot, before jumping into the Hérault river.

The man, in difficulty in the water, icy in this season, was finally saved by the police, continues the newspaper.
