The updated situation in Italy and in the world



Today's data reported by the Ministry of Health: 8,561 new cases and 420 victims are registered.

Yesterday there were 

11,629 new cases

with 216,211 swabs and 299 victims;

the positivity rate was 5.4%. 



Three Italian regions at risk of EU dark red zone


There are three regions, together with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, at risk of being mapped by the EU as

dark red areas

and therefore subject to the obligation of testing and quarantine in order to travel to the EU .

These are Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Emilia Romagna.

This is the result of the latest data published by the ECDC relating to the cumulative number of cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.

The EU has decided that when this value exceeds five hundred the area is indicated as a dark red zone.

On January 21 the province of Bolzano resulted with 696 cumulative cases per 100 000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, with 656 Veneto, Friuli and Emilia Romagna 768 528.



In Emilia-Romagna 1,164 cases and 76 more deaths  


While holding on stable values ​​the daily increase of new coronavirus cases in Emilia-Romagna, hospitalizations of patients with Covid-19 date back and in the region there are another 76 victims, for a total of almost 9,200 since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to the region's daily bulletin, 1,164 new infections have been made out of a total of 10,436 swabs performed in the last 24 hours.

Average age 47 years.

About half of the cases are asymptomatic people identified in contact tracing and screening activities.

The number of hospitalized patients is increasing: in intensive care there are 222 (three more than yesterday) and in the other departments there are 2,422 (+39).

The vaccination campaign also continues, albeit with priority given to calls and Rsa patients due to the cut in deliveries from Pfizer-BioNTech: at 4 pm 133,985 people are vaccinated, of which 4,024 today.  



In Campania 754 new cases and 20 deaths


There are 754 new cases of contagion recorded in Campania in the last 24 hours, of which 24 cases identified by rapid antigenic tests, compared to 8,348 swabs of which 761 antigenic.

This was communicated by the Crisis Unit of the Campania Region, specifying that 723 of the new positives are asymptomatic, 7 are symptomatic.

The healed are 646, the victims are 20. 105 intensive care beds are occupied (656 the total of those available), 1,455 hospital places (3,160 the total of those available).



In Lazio 67,661 positive cases, 287 in intensive care


In Lazio there are 67,661 cases currently positive for Covid-19, of which 2,560 are hospitalized, 287 in intensive care and 64,814 in home isolation.

Since the beginning of the epidemic there are a total of 126,184 healed, 4,722 deaths and the total number of cases examined is 198,567.

Piedmont, 600 new cases and 21 deaths


Today the Crisis Unit of the Piedmont Region reported 600 new cases of people who tested positive for Covid-19 (of which 48 after antigen tests), equal to 5.8% of the 10,313 swabs performed, of which 5,146 antigenic.

Of the 600 new cases, 248 were asymptomatic (41.3%).

The cases are divided as follows: 166 screenings, 277 case contacts, 157 with ongoing investigation;

by area: 45 RSA / Social-Welfare Structures, 51 schools, 504 general population.

The total of positive cases therefore becomes 222,305.

There are 163 patients admitted to intensive care (+7 compared to yesterday);

non-intensive care patients are 2364 (+ 19 compared to yesterday).

There are 10,674 people in home isolation The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 2,378,770 (+ 10,313 compared to yesterday), of which 1,003,928 were negative.

Unfortunately, there are 21 deaths.  



Veneto, 533 infections and 43 deaths


Those of today's Covid bulletin in Veneto are clearly down.

The regional report reports 533 infections in the last 24 hours and 43 deaths.

Numbers that bring the total of infected from the beginning of the epidemic to 306,206, and that of victims to 8,602.

The decline in hospital admissions continues, where approximately 2,500 beds are occupied by Covid patients.

Today there are 2,243 patients (-33) in the medical wards, 313 (-1) in intensive care.

It also deflects the number of subjects currently positive: they are 44,519 (-1,187).



In Tuscany 422 new cases and 14 deaths


In Tuscany there are 422 more positives than yesterday.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, the total positive cases are equal to 131,281 units.

The healed reach 118,712 (90.4% of total cases).

Today 5,913 molecular swabs and 1,009 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 6.1% were positive.

Instead, 3,144 subjects tested today (with antigenic and / or molecular buffer, excluding the control swabs), of which 13.4% were positive.

The currently positive are 8,460 today, + 0.5% compared to yesterday.

The people hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 770 (28 more than yesterday, plus 3.8%), 109 in intensive care (3 more than yesterday, plus 2.8%).

Today there are 14 new deaths: 10 men and 4 women with an average age of 80.5 years.



32 deaths and 401 new positives in Puglia


There are 32 victims and 401 new cases of Covid-19 infection recorded in Puglia on 3,949 tests performed.

The positivity rate is 10.1%, lower than yesterday's 11.06%.

The number of tampons done is lower than usual as it always happens after the weekend.

Since the beginning of the emergency, 1,253,021 tests have been carried out;

59,097 patients are cured and 54,382 are currently positive cases.

The total of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 116,511. 



Another 4 victims in South Tyrol and 200 new positives


The death toll of Covid-19 in South Tyrol continues to grow: the provincial health authority reports another four deaths in the last 24 hours that bring the total, since the beginning of the health emergency to 845. The laboratories of the Company also ascertained 131 new positive cases on the basis of 1,003 PCR swabs, 351 of which were new tests.

To these are added 69 positive antigen tests out of 1,666 carried out, for which the total of new infections ascertained in the last 24 hours is 200. Hospitalizations are increasing: the Covid 19 patients assisted in intensive care are 28 (3 more than in yesterday), in the normal hospital wards 239 (13 more), in the private affiliated structures 161 (1 more) and in isolation in the structures of Colle Isarco and Sarnes 18. There are 11,899 people in home isolation (95 more).

The recovered from PCR are 22,381 (120 more) in addition to 1,589 people (one more) who had a test with an uncertain or unclear outcome and who later tested negative.

In addition, 8,312 people were cured by epidemiological investigation.



In the Marche 200 new positives


In the Marche region, 200 new cases of 'Covid-19' have been identified in the last 24 hours, 26.8% compared to the 747 swabs processed during the course for new diagnoses;

the previous day, the positives had been 525, 27.2% of the 1,903 carried out.

The total of positives since the start of the pandemic crisis has thus risen to 53,103.

This is learned from the first update of the regional health service.

Also yesterday, 1,115 antigenic tests were carried out and 50 positive cases (4.5%) were found, which will be subjected to the molecular swab, and 1,114 in the course cured, which bring the positive / tested ratio down to 10.7% compared to 17.1% of the previous day.



In Liguria 164 new cases and 6 deaths


The bulletin of the Liguria Region announces that there are 164 positives today, out of 1637 molecular swabs and 1355 antigenic swabs.

The number of hospitalized patients increased by 22, while the deaths were 6.



Friuli Venezia Giulia 147 new cases and 23 deaths


Today in Friuli Venezia Giulia 147 new infections have been detected on 2,120 molecular swabs with a positive percentage of 6.93%.

There are also 318 rapid antigenic tests carried out, from which 34 cases (10.69%) were detected.

There are 23 registered deaths, of which 6 deaths occurred from December 24th to January 16th.

There are 62 hospitalizations in intensive care while those in other departments are 686. This was announced by the deputy governor with responsibility for Health, Riccardo Riccardi.

The total deaths amounted to 2,266.

The totally healed are 49,197, the clinically cured go up to 1,483, while the people in isolation go down and today they are 10,825.



In Basilicata 124 new cases and 7 deaths


On 23 and 24 January last, 1,110 swabs were tried for the search for contagion from Covid-19, of which 124 (and of these 116 residents in Basilicata) were positive.

This was reported by the Basilicata regional task force.

On the same days, 7 people died.

On the same days 110 people healed.

With this update the currently positive Lucanians are 6,711 of which 6,619 in home isolation.

5,509 people residing in Basilicata recovered from the beginning of the health emergency and 307 died.

The people currently hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals are 92. Since the beginning of the health emergency, 205,277 swabs have been analyzed, of which 190,104 were negative, and 127,375 people were tested.



In Abruzzo 69 new positives and 25 deaths


There are a total of 40,955 positive cases of Covid 19 registered in Abruzzo since the beginning of the emergency.

Compared to yesterday there are 69 new cases.

The total is 3 units lower because cases found to be duplicated or in charge of another Region were subtracted.

The death toll has registered 25 new cases and rises to 1418. Since the start of the Coronavirus emergency, a total of 597578 molecular swabs (+1800 compared to yesterday) and 45979 antigen tests (+4885 compared to yesterday) have been performed.

The positivity rate, calculated on the sum of molecular swabs and antigen tests of the day, is equal to 1 percent.

426 patients (-4 compared to yesterday) are hospitalized in non-intensive care;

44 (unchanged from yesterday with 1 new hospitalization) in intensive care, while the other 9726 (-454 compared to yesterday) are in home isolation with active surveillance by the ASL.



In Umbria 66 new cases and six deaths


Now the usual Monday trend for Covid infections in Umbria.

In fact, the new positives ascertained in the last day drop, 66, 34,135 total, compared to fewer swabs analyzed, 473, 571,155, with the positivity rate rising to 13.9 percent (yesterday it was 7.2) as happens always after a public holiday.

The healed were 140, 28,357, and the dead six, 746. The currently positive are now 5,032, 80 less than yesterday.

Nine more hospitalized, 347, while the number of patients in intensive care remains unchanged, 47.



In Valle d'Aosta 8 new cases


In Valle d'Aosta there are 8 new cases of coronavirus found after carrying out 71 swabs since yesterday.

In the last 24 hours no further deaths have been recorded, the victims since the beginning of the emergency remain 400. These are the data of the regional daily bulletin.
