Bindlach (dpa / lby) - A stranger seriously injured a horse in Bindlach, Upper Franconia (Bayreuth district).
The perpetrator injured the animal with massive stab wounds and cuts in the area of the anus, as the police announced on Sunday.
The horse was in an open paddock when it was attacked.
According to the police, the act occurred on Thursday afternoon.
A veterinarian called for help took care of the wounds.
It is believed that the injuries were caused by a knife.
The police are now investigating an offense under the Animal Welfare Act and damage to property.
