Kiel (dpa / lno) - The Schleswig-Holstein Football Association (SHFV) is still striving to bring the 2020/21 season started in September to a sporty end, despite the lockdown that will last until mid-February.

Whether and in which game mode in the individual seasons below the 3rd division a continuation of the game operation in the middle of the corona pandemic depends "in particular on the time of possible re-entry into team training and game operations," the SHFV announced on Saturday its first ordinary meeting in 2021.

It is certain that, according to the current situation, neither team training nor competitions are allowed until February 14th.

The interruption of gaming operations in the Schleswig-Holstein game classes will be formally extended until February 14th.

However, the presidium and the committees responsible for the organization of the game operations refrain from communicating specific models of a continuation of the point games as long as it is not foreseeable when the return to the game operation is possible, it said.

Various scenarios were discussed.

Also that the time available until the start of the 2021/22 season is not enough to end the current series with a competitive sporting result.

Then alternative game or tournament models would be possible, the SHFV said.

All models would have to contain solutions that above all ensure the promotion of Schleswig-Holstein teams to the regional leagues and the playing of cup winners.

All teams would have to be given adequate preparation time before resuming competitive games.
