Potsdam (dpa / bb) - At the weekend, the seven-day incidence in Brandenburg fell below 200 cases.

In around 187 out of 100,000 people, an infection was detected in the past seven days, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.

On Saturday the value was 193.7 cases.

A week ago there were around 231 new infections.

The goal of the federal and state governments is to bring the incidence below 50.

According to the ministry, 519 people were verifiably infected with the corona virus within one day.

On Saturday there were 724. At the weekend, numbers can be reported with a delay.

The district of Dahme-Spreewald reported most of the infections (82).

In Ostprignitz-Ruppin, the seven-day incidence rose to 394.5 from 337.9 on Saturday.

In Spree-Neisse, around 283 out of 100,000 people were infected with the coronavirus within a week.

On Saturday the value was 321.0 cases.

In Cottbus, the value fell from 311.0 to 244.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants on Sunday compared to Saturday.

In Brandenburg, daycare centers have to close if the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants rises above 300 in a week.

Otherwise they are allowed to open.

Nationwide, a total of 559 of 705 intensive care beds are occupied, according to figures from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (DIVI) on Sunday.

146 intensive care beds are still available, and another 318 could be set up within a week.
