Schorndorf (dpa / lby) - A 69-year-old woman was slightly injured in a fire in a holiday apartment in Schorndorf, Upper Palatinate (Cham district).

Her 68-year-old partner lit a stove in the annex on Saturday afternoon and went for a walk with the dog, the police said on Sunday.

When the woman noticed smoke, she tried to put out the fire, but failed.

The fire department quickly brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to the main building.

The woman had been taken to hospital with mild smoke inhalation.

The police assume that the fire was triggered by flying sparks from the stove on a nearby couch.
