Euskirchen (dpa / lnw) - At a dam in Euskirchen, a man shot a cormorant with a rifle.
There is an investigation into poaching, the police said on Sunday.
Accordingly, a witness called the officials on Friday because the man is said to have shot the wild bird from an off-road vehicle.
The police found the shooter through the license plate on the car.
He himself denied having shot the bird, said a police spokeswoman.
The fire brigade recovered the dead bird from the water.
