New York (AP) - A replica of the talking car “KITT” from the cult series “Knight Rider” and dozens of other memorabilia from actor David Hasselhoff (68) have been auctioned in the USA.

The car brought in around 30 bids at the online auction on Saturday, $ 300,000 (about 250,000 euros), according to the website of the online auction house.

At first it was not announced who bought it.

According to the online auction house, the "KITT" replica, which is waiting for its new owner in a parking lot in Great Britain, belonged to Hasselhoff, but was not used for the production of the series in front of the camera.

In addition, for example, autograph cards, awards and items of clothing were auctioned, usually for a few hundred dollars.

A lunch with the actor and singer brought in $ 9,000, significantly less than the expected $ 20,000, with only three bids.

Hasselhoff became famous especially in the 80s and 90s with the TV series "Knight Rider" and "Baywatch", as a singer especially with the song "Looking for Freedom".

Recently, however, his career had stalled.
