Vilshofen (dpa / lby) - A fire broke out on a cargo ship on Saturday while traveling on the Danube.

The crew of the Hungarian ship brought the fire in the engine room under control and moored in Vilshofen in Lower Bavaria (Passau district), as the police announced on Sunday.

The ship loaded 1300 tons of artificial fertilizer.

According to the police, no one was injured in the fire.

Initially, no information could be given about the amount of damage.

The ship had been banned from continuing.
