Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's Education Minister Marco Tullner sees some progress in the organization of distance learning, despite persistent problems.

He regards it as a great success that communication between teachers, students and parents has improved considerably compared to the first lockdown, said the CDU politician of the “Magdeburger Volksstimme” (Saturday).

There are hardly any complaints about this exchange not working.

That was completely different in the spring.

In addition, according to Tullner, the learning platforms are much more stable than before.

There could be individual cases in which the system does not work.

Due to the ongoing move to the server of an external provider, capacities can easily be switched on if there are high access numbers.

However, many deficits remained, for example in equipping families with technology and Internet access.

In Saxony-Anhalt the schools have been in emergency operation since mid-December.

Only the final classes get face-to-face lessons, all other years have tasks for home.

This practice is to be maintained at least until mid-February.

Schools were already completely closed in March and April 2020 due to the Corona crisis.

As soon as easing is possible, Tullner wants the primary school students to return to the classrooms.

In an interview with the “Volksstimme”, the CDU politician left open when this time would be.

Unlike in spring, Saxony-Anhalt is now one of the top hotspots with the highest number of corona cases.

"It is forbidden to go ahead with the topic of school openings."
