Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The new Hessian Corona regulation with a stricter mask requirement in public transport, shops and church services comes into force this Saturday.

Medical masks must now be worn here.

In addition to FFP2 masks, this also includes surgical masks.

A cloth, scarf or a fabric mask is no longer enough.

In the old people's and nursing homes in the country, visitors are only allowed to enter these homes if they can present a current negative corona test.

In Hesse, the rule of contact is that only meetings with a maximum of one other person who does not belong to your household are allowed.

With the lockdown being extended until February 14, leisure facilities, restaurants and retail outlets must also remain closed.

The following corona rules apply from Saturday in Hesse:

SCHOOLS AND CHILD CARE

The Hessian regulations on schools and childcare remain in place.

Pupils should stay away from classroom lessons wherever possible up to grade 6.

From grade 7 onwards, with the exception of final classes, there are distance lessons.

Class work does not usually take place.

The same applies to daycare centers: parents should - wherever possible - look after their children at home.

It is also allowed for up to three families to join together to form care communities and take turns to look after the children.

BAN ALCOHOL IN PUBLIC

It is still forbidden to drink alcohol in busy public places.

The corresponding places and facilities are determined on site.

BLOCKING OF HIGHLY VISITED DESTINATIONS

If there are more than 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within the last 7 days, the districts and urban districts must take appropriate measures to block excursion destinations with great public appeal, for example by blocking parking spaces or forbidding excursion destinations.

The previous 15-kilometer radius regulation is no longer applicable.

These closures and night curfews should also be checked if a reduction of the seven-day value to 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants by mid-February is not realistic in any other way.

HOMEOFFICE

In order to further reduce social contacts, working from home is to be expanded in Hessen as well.

Hessen expressly supports the corresponding decision from the federal-state switchboard.

The state administration will also increase its efforts to further increase the proportion of home offices.

EXTENDED MASKING REQUIREMENTS IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, IN SHOPS AND SERVICES

When traveling by bus or train or when shopping, the recommended minimum distances cannot always be safely adhered to.

Therefore, medical masks will have to be worn in both areas in the future.

In addition to FFP2 masks, this also includes surgical masks.

These masks protect better against transmission of the virus than simple everyday masks.

Medical masks must also be worn in church services.

The obligation also applies on the pitch, although a minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be observed.

Congregational singing remains prohibited despite the mask requirement.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION OF NURSING AND NURSING HOME

Visitors are only allowed to enter retirement and nursing homes if they can present a current negative corona test.

STRENGTHENED QUARANTINE REGULATION FOR ENTRIES FROM CORONA VIRUS VARIANT AREAS

Anyone entering Hesse from a corona virus variant area must immediately go into quarantine.

A test to end the quarantine is possible after five days at the earliest.

Exceptions are only made for people who transport goods or people across borders or who are urgently required to maintain health care and who have stayed there for less than 72 hours.

A corona vaccination or illness does not exempt you from the quarantine obligation.

The corona virus variant areas currently include Great Britain and South Africa in particular, because the mutated corona virus has occurred more frequently there.
