Paderborn (AP) - The Würzburger Kickers have suffered a setback in the fight against relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga after three games without a defeat.

The bottom of the table lost 0: 1 (0: 1) to relegated Bundesliga SC Paderborn on Saturday despite a committed performance.

The winning goal was scored by Dennis Srbeny (31st minute) after a mistake in the build-up of the game for the Franks.

After some comments in the direction of the referee, Würzburg coach Bernhard Trares saw the red card (76th).

Despite the slight upturn, the Kickers finished the last row with nine points as the bottom of the table.

Five points is the deficit on a non-relegation place before the next game on Tuesday at Erzgebirge Aue.

Paderborn keeps contact with the first half of the table thanks to the narrow success.

With 25 points now, the East Westphalia jump to ninth place for at least one day.

Coach Steffen Baumgart's team is still six points short of the promotion ranks.
