Berlin (dpa) - The processing of the allegations made by athletes against the Chemnitz gymnastics trainer Gabriele Frehse by the German Gymnastics Association does not go far enough for the former balance beam world champion Pauline Schäfer.

«Contrary to what I was able to gather from the press, the DTB has not yet made a personal apology to me.

Nobody has reported to one of those affected, ”said the 23-year-old gymnast, who has been training at the Chemnitz base since she was 15, on Saturday the German press agency.

DTB President Alfons Hölzl had apologized the day before, on behalf of gymnastics, to the athletes for the suffering they had experienced.

The German Gymnastics Federation had also announced that it considered "serious breaches of duty" to have been proven.

In a statement, the association called for Gabriele Frehse's employment to be terminated by the Saxony Olympic Training Center.

In addition to Schäfer, other gymnasts had also accused Frehse of harassing them in training, administering drugs without a doctor's prescription and not allowing them to object.
