Düsseldorf (dpa) - Hamburger SV has expanded its lead in the 2nd Bundesliga before the top duel with pursuers Fortuna Düsseldorf on Tuesday (8.30 p.m. / Sky) goes into the game as the first round champions.

The Hanseatics, who have not been defeated for seven games, also prevailed on Saturday's 17th matchday in the north duel at Eintracht Braunschweig after a 2-0 deficit 4-2 (1: 2).

HSV are 36 points ahead of VfL Bochum (32), who will compete at SV Sandhausen on Sunday, and Fortuna Düsseldorf (31) in first place.

The goals for the win in Braunschweig were scored twice by David Kinsombi (45th / 65th), Simon Terodde (51st) and Aaron Hunt (59th).

Karlsruher SC may have missed their fourth win in a row, but remain in the top third of the table after their 1: 1 (1: 0) against 1. FC Heidenheim.

Bundesliga relegated SC Paderborn was able to make up ground with the 1-0 (1-0) home win against bottom line Würzburger Kickers.

Dennis Srbeny scored the winning goal for East Westphalia in the 31st minute.

The Paderborn team improved to ninth place in the table, while Würzburg, who were previously undefeated three times, are still bottom of the table.

Already on Friday evening, the two pursuers Fortuna Düsseldorf and SpVgg Greuther Fürth delivered a classy game at 3: 3 (1: 2), but in the end both teams only got one point.

The Düsseldorf team, undefeated in eight games, came after a 2-0 and 2-3 deficit after an exciting race to catch up to make it 3-3 through Kevin Danso in the 83rd minute.

"The game offered everything that was expected," said Fürth's trainer Stefan Leitl.

Fortuna's coach Uwe Rösler drew a positive conclusion after the first half of the season.

"With 31 points after the bumpy start, I'm very satisfied," said the Düsseldorf coach.
