The Brest handball players went to snatch the draw on Saturday in Hungary against Györ 27 to 27, on a goal from Ana Gros in the last seconds of the match, on behalf of the 12th day of the Champions League.

Two matches from the end of the group stage, Brest retains its second place with 16 points, two less than the Hungarians (18 pts, but one match less), triple holders of the European crown (2017, 2018, 2019) and undefeated in the Champions League since January 2018.

Laurent Bezeau's players have one point more than CSKA Moscow (15), the Russians having however three games less on the clock (nine against twelve).

This point of the draw won in Györ allows them above all to distance themselves from the Danes of Odense, 4th in the group (13 pts, 12 matches played).

The Brestoises will face the Germans from Dortmund, then the Romanians from Valcea.

The first two teams (out of 8) of the group are directly qualified for the quarter-finals, the teams classified from 3rd to 6th place must go through a jump-off.
