Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The Greens and the AfD gained members in Saxony-Anhalt last year.
That was the result of a survey by the German Press Agency.
The Greens grew by around 8.5 percent to 1114 members in 2020, 87 more than in the previous year.
According to its own information, the AfD recorded 1336 - 10 percent more than a year earlier.
The party with the largest number of members in Saxony-Anhalt is still the CDU.
The bottom line in 2020 was that the Christian Democrats also grew, the number of members rose by 0.6 percent to 6335. The number of members of the SPD fell by 137 from 3522 to 3385.
Die Linke lost most of its members; at the end of the year it still had 3,192 members and thus 220 members less than in 2019.
