Ebermannstadt (dpa / lby) - The police in Upper Franconia tried to catch a cattle with the help of a helicopter - and then shot it.
As the police announced on Saturday, the animal had run away in Ebermannstadt (Forchheim district).
A veterinarian tried on Friday with a stun gun to calm it down.
Because of the falling darkness, the officers were then supported by a police helicopter that illuminated the area.
The animal fled across fields, through a forest and finally headed for a federal road.
According to a police spokesman, all attempts to capture the animal have been unsuccessful and it has become increasingly aggressive.
That is why the cattle was killed.
