Heusweiler (dpa / lrs) - A 51-year-old woman was killed in a fire in an attic apartment in Heusweiler.
Her husband was smoke inhaled, the police said.
All other residents of the apartment building could have escaped from the building.
Several media had previously reported.
According to the police, the fire broke out on Saturday night.
On Saturday morning, the fire flared up again and had to be extinguished again, the spokesman said.
Fire investigators should therefore start work on Monday when the house has cooled down.
The cause and background of the fire are still unclear.
