The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center revealed that the number of traffic violations in the country increased, during eight years, by 46.7%, as it increased from eight million and 246 thousand and 614 violations by the end of 2012, to 12 million 97 thousand and 448 violations by the end of 2019, an increase of three million and 850 One thousand and 834 violations.

In a report issued yesterday based on the statistics of the Ministry of Interior, the center stated that Abu Dhabi ranked first in the number of traffic violations in 2019, as it acquired more than 50% of the registered violations, with a total of 6 million 69 thousand and 455 violations of state violations, and Dubai ranked first The second recorded three million 547 thousand and 869 violations, at a rate of 29.3%, and Sharjah ranked third with one million and 259 thousand and 742 violations, at a rate of 10.9%.

According to the report, Ajman came in fourth place, with 573,557 violations, at a rate of 4.8%, Ras al-Khaimah fifth with 270,173 violations, and Fujairah sixth with 220,815 violations, and finally Umm al-Quwain, with 155,837 violations.

The report also revealed that the number of traffic accidents, which resulted in deaths and injuries, decreased by 17.9%, during the same period, as it decreased from 5121 accidents during 2012 to 4,206 accidents in 2019, and the number of deaths and injuries resulting from these accidents decreased by 28.5 and 23. 3%, respectively, as the deaths decreased from 627 deaths at the end of 2012, to 448 deaths by the end of 2019, and the number of injuries decreased from 7,586 injuries at the end of 2012, to 5,814 injuries at the end of 2019.

The report revealed that the number of traffic accidents that caused injuries and deaths recorded in Abu Dhabi in 2019 amounted to 1798 accidents, 1,360 accidents in Dubai, 521 accidents in Sharjah, 186 in Ras Al-Khaimah, 168 in Ajman, 136 in Fujairah, and 37 accidents in Umm Al-Quwain.

These accidents resulted in 5814 injuries, including 2547 injuries in Abu Dhabi, 1894 in Dubai, 673 in Sharjah, 245 in Ras al-Khaimah, 179 in Fujairah, 237 in Ajman, and 39 injuries in Umm al-Quwain.

According to the report, the number of deaths resulting from accidents that left injuries and deaths in 2019 reached (448) deaths, including 186 deaths in Abu Dhabi, 132 in Dubai, 62 in Sharjah, 37 in Ras Al Khaimah, nine in Umm Al Quwain, and 15 in Ajman. And seven deaths in Fujairah.
