Larry King is from an era of more cultured, respectful and insightful journalism.

His death was preceded by the death of his son Andy after a heart attack in July and his daughter Chaya from lung cancer in August.

The gold standard set by this man has become the benchmark for the entire field of broadcast media, and everyone who is engaged in his craft is in an unpaid debt to him.

Larry King gained popularity in the United States as the host of the radio program The Larry King Show, on the air of which he received calls from listeners from all over the country, paying due attention to each caller.

He could object, or he could console, and by allowing all points of view to be expressed, he enlightened his entire audience.

Larry, who has interviewed a myriad of world leaders and superstars, was equally respectful to anyone who called him or was a guest on his programs.

He treated each of his countless interlocutors with elementary kindness and respect, which is a rarity in our turbulent and unstable cultural landscape.

He has perfected the art of interviewing for decades, and his work has received many awards and positive reviews.

Larry King has received Peabody awards for his radio and television performance, has ten CableACE Awards for Best Interviewer and Best Talk Show, the Southern California Radio and TV News Association's Golden Microphone Lifetime Achievement Award, and many other awards and honorary degrees from a number of educational institutions such as Brooklyn College, City University of New York and Bradley University.

In 1989, King was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.

Talkers Magazine named him the top talk show host of all time.

He continued to do what he loved until the very end, being the host of the PoliticKing and Larry King Now programs on RT America.

“Larry often noted our channel's commitment to the principle of giving full freedom to the presenters in what opinions they can express, whom they can criticize and what questions they can ask,” recalls RT America head Mikhail Solodovnikov.

Working for RT America certainly suited a man like Larry.

He has built his long, brilliant, distinguished career by incessantly asking question after question.

So he was in the right place among those who have "Ask more questions" is the motto.

“And we, in turn, when he worked on his latest programs, had the honor to bathe in the rays of his talent, while he continued to shine with patience, nobility and wit into the twilight of his years.

Working with us, he adhered to that charming and endearing style, which he honed like no other over decades of broadcasting experience and which made him a real living legend, ”added Mikhail Solodovnikov, who has worked with Larry for the past seven years.

“I never learned anything by saying something myself.

It is important to listen to others, ”he said.

The genius of Larry's method lies precisely in this - in such a simple human action: listening.

And now, with his departure, the willingness of our world to listen has become even less.

But the sensitivity and the frankness that he showed the world graduate after issue during his long legendary career, of course, cannot be forgotten.

The impression he made on our culture will remain with us forever.
