The star striker of Paris SG Kylian Mbappé, under contract until 2022, explained Friday to be "in reflection" on his future within the Parisian club, a choice of "long term", after the big victory against Montpellier in League 1 (4-0).
"We are discussing with the club to find a project. I said that I was also thinking about it, because I think it is a signature which .. if I sign it is to invest myself in the long term at Paris Saint-Germain ", declared Mbappé at the microphone of the Téléfoot channel.
"I am very happy here, I have always been very happy, the supporters, the club have always helped me, and just for that I will always be grateful to the club. But I want to think about what I want to do in these next few years, where I want to be, that's how my thinking turns, "added the 2018 World Champion.
"Yes, a choice will have to be made soon, but I am in the process of thinking".
When?
"If I had the answer today, I would have said it today. It's not a desire to save time, it's really a reflection. For example, I don't want to sign a contract and to leave a year later (...) If I sign it is to stay, "concluded Mbappé.
At the beginning of December, the president of Paris SG Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had said he was "very confident" on the case of Mbappé but also on that of the Brazilian Neymar.
The two players are at the end of their contract in June 2022.
