Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Objects on the tracks slowed down Hessian regional trains three times on Thursday.

In Frankfurt, strangers had put a shopping cart on the rails, as the federal police announced on Friday.

According to the police, there were stones and a chair on the route between Gießen and Gelnhausen, and a self-made doll near Volkmarsen (Waldeck-Frankenberg district).

Nobody was injured in the three cases, and a train driver suffered a shock.

According to the federal police, a regional train initially drove over gravel stones near Hungen (Gießen district) on Thursday afternoon.

A short time later, the driver of another train saw a chair lying on the tracks on the same section.

He was able to stop his train in time and remove the chair.

On Thursday evening, near Frankfurt am Main Ost train station, a train from the Hessian State Railroad (HLB) drove over a shopping trolley lying on the rails.

An emergency braking initiated by the engine driver could no longer prevent the collision.

According to the Federal Police, the shopping trolley wedged so badly under the locomotive that only technicians from the HLB were able to remove it.

According to the police, a 44-year-old train driver at Volkmarsen suffered a shock because he believed he had run over a person.

As it turned out, a self-made doll, dressed in clothes, had been lying on the tracks.

The train driver of the Kurhessenbahn could not continue working after the incident and had to be replaced, it said.

In all cases, the federal police are now looking for witnesses.
