The media of the regime in Syria announced that the air defenses responded at dawn today, Friday, to what they described as an Israeli aggression against targets in the vicinity of Hama Governorate without specifying them, and it also did not mention anything about injuries or damage.

The official media quoted a military source as saying, "At about four o'clock in the morning, the Israeli enemy launched an air assault with bursts of rockets from the direction of the Lebanese city of Tripoli, targeting some targets in the vicinity of Hama Governorate."

The military source added that the air defense media confronted the enemy missiles and dropped most of them, he said.

For years, Israel has launched hundreds of raids on sites of the Syrian regime forces and military bases belonging to Iran and its militias, and Tel Aviv says it wants to prevent Tehran from establishing its military presence in Syria.

In a rare report, the Israeli occupation army said last month that, during the year 2020, it had bombed about 50 targets in Syria.

The last of those attacks was a series of raids launched by Israeli aircraft on the 13th of this month on weapons depots and military sites where Iranian forces are stationed in the eastern Deir Ezzor governorate, killing 5 Syrian soldiers and 11 fighters with pro-Iranian factions, and wounding dozens, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
