Hagen (dpa / lnw) - After a long investigation, the police arrested a suspected pimp who is said to have beaten young women, forced them into prostitution and, in one case, also raped them.
An arrest warrant had been available since October 2020 against the 26-year-old, who was in hiding.
According to the indictment, he met an 18-year-old woman through a dating app and used violence as a prostitute.
She had to cede to the man 70 euros of the 120 euros she received for each client, according to the indictment.
After the investigators found out the whereabouts of the man, he was arrested without resistance early Wednesday morning, the police said.
He faces a long sentence of up to 15 years, said a spokesman for the regional court that issued the arrest warrant.
