The first ladies' descent of the Crans Montana World Cup stage was postponed by a few hours on Friday "because of the snowfall that occurred during the night", announced the International Ski Federation (FIS).

Scheduled at 10:00 am local (09:00 GMT), the start of the event has been postponed to 13:15 (12:15 GMT), time to "work on the track" of Mont Lachaux to clear the powder, explains the FIS.

The Valais resort is due to host three races this year: two descents on Friday and Saturday, like last year, as well as a super-G on Sunday, resumed from the Saint-Moritz stage canceled in December due to snow.

Crans-Montana is an important milestone in the race for the two crystal globes of speed, where the hierarchy remains undecided: in the descent, the Italian Sofia Goggia is 60 points ahead of the Swiss Corinne Suter, and in super-G , the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami is 5 small points ahead of the Czech Ester Ledecka and Corinne Suter.

The Swiss stage could also shake up the general classification, rather dominated by the technicians, where the Slovakian Petra Vlhova leads only 60 points ahead of the Swiss Michelle Gisin, a phenomenon of versatility on the podium in each discipline.

Modified program for the Crans-Montana stage:

Friday: first descent at 1:15 p.m.

Saturday: second descent at 10:00 a.m.

Sunday: super-G at 12:00 p.m.
