The joint training activities between the Royal Saudi Navy and the US Navy were launched in Saudi Arabia, with British participation, at a time when the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Iran's call for dialogue is useless.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the British landmine hunter will participate in the training called "21 Naval Defender", which includes lectures and training exercises, and will last for two weeks at the King Abdulaziz Naval Base in Jubail, east of the Kingdom.
The agency stated that the joint training aims to raise combat readiness, expand security cooperation, and exchange experiences.
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said Iran's calls for dialogue were futile.
In statements to Saudi media, the minister added that Iran's calls for dialogue aim to procrastinate and escape its crises, and he called on it to change its ideas and focus on the prosperity of its people, as he put it.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan announced that the Kingdom's hand is extended for peace with Iran, but the latter does not abide by its agreements, and he also indicated that the weakness of previous agreements with Iran is due to the lack of coordination with the countries of the region.
The Saudi minister confirmed that they would consult with the United States regarding the agreement with Iran, so that it would be based on a strong foundation, according to him.
He also indicated that European countries understand that the previous agreement with Iran has deficiencies.
Yesterday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif welcomed Qatar's call for a comprehensive dialogue in the region and achieving stability, stressing that his country has consistently called for joint cooperation to solve the challenges facing the region and achieve peace, stability and prosperity for a region free of global or regional hegemony, as he put it.
Zarif's announcement came after statements broadcast by Bloomberg Agency to Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, in which he expressed his hope that there will be a summit between Iran and the Gulf states, and said, "This is a desire that also exists in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Iran has expressed more From one time, it expressed its desire for dialogue with the Gulf states.
