Greifswald (dpa / mv) - The district administrator in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, Michael Sack (CDU), has criticized the central appointment allocation for vaccinations via a call center in the northeast.

"We have big problems with the appointment management, our vaccination centers are booked too little," said Sack on Friday in front of journalists in Greifswald.

So on Wednesday only 35 percent of the capacity in Greifswald and Pasewalk could be used.

Up to 1000 people could be vaccinated there per day, on that day there were 283. The main problem is that the allocated vaccine always has to be used up by Friday.

The call center makes appointments centrally on behalf of the Schwerin state government.

In Vorpommern-Greifswald, the weekly incidence of 195 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is highest in the northeast.

Sack does not expect a quick change in the corona situation: "At the moment it is not foreseeable that we will get into the 50 range."

He doesn't see the region in any other situation at Easter.
