22 January 2021 The 'navigators' will demonstrate in Rome, in Piazza Montecitorio, and in other cities on 9 February to ask for the renewal of their contract, which expires in April.

They ask that the state not abandon them because their work is necessary.

A

day of national mobilization

was proclaimed by the unions UilTemp, Nidil Cgil and Felsa Cisl in defense of the 'tutors of the unemployed', figures considered essential to support the beneficiaries of the Citizenship Income to seek employment.

It was

Luigi Di Maio

, current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister in the Conte I Government, to coin the term in 2019 to indicate the tutors dedicated to assisting beneficiaries of Citizenship Income in finding work: by proposing training courses and offering job opportunities.

The

National

CGIL

indicates in the Milleproroghe decree, under discussion in the Chamber, the instrument on which to intervene with an amendment and asks for a renewal of the collaboration contracts, expiring on April 30, 2021, for at least one year until April 30, 2022. "They are professionals who - underlines the Confederation - in addition to possessing degrees in key disciplines to operate in the labor market, they have positive training and refresher courses. In order not to lose the wealth of experience acquired and to allow these workers to continue to collaborate with the decentralized structures of Anpal and in particular with the Employment Centers in the field of active policies, it is necessary to extend their collaboration contracts with Anpal Servizi for at least another twelve months. A need - concludes the CGIL - even more stringent to the light of the provisions of the Budget Law with the measure 'Employability guarantee for workers' ".

According to the

Felsa Cisl

these are: "Of 2700 workers who have been working for over a year at the Italian CPI to support the beneficiaries of Citizenship Income and for a few months also in connection with companies for the detection of employment opportunities. this is generating great concern among the workers which is also joined by that of the trade unions, we would have expected a very different approach, also in consideration of the announced development of active policies that have always been heralded by the government. yet another pocket of unemployed, with serious repercussions on all citizens, both in terms of new burdens and lack of specialized professionalism for the definitive take-off of active policies in our country.

"We have been asking for a long time to have a normal confrontation with the Government", he says the national secretary of

Uiltemp

, Gianvincenzo Benito Petrassi. "We think it is inappropriate to interrupt the p

work history of these people.

The Citizenship Income has been extended and it would be a blow to the system of Employment Centers which is already underpowered. "

About 3,000 navigators were hired in 2019 to assist beneficiaries of Citizenship Income in their job search. One hypothesis on the table would be an extension of the contracts of the navigators until the convocation of a competition to insert them in a structural way in the Employment Centers.
