Hanover (dpa / lni) - Despite the corona pandemic, Lower Saxony is preparing a celebration for its 75th anniversary as a state.

From October 8 to 10, there will be music stages, discussions and a regional mile on which the parts of the country can present themselves at the Maschsee in Hanover, as the “Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung” reported (Friday).

"Our inner attitude is: We want to organize the party," said Matthias Voivode, the chief of protocol in the State Chancellery for the major event, of the newspaper.

Because nobody knows how the pandemic will develop by then, the situation should be assessed together with the city before the summer holidays.

"But I cannot imagine that there will be indicators that force us to reject it," said the voivode.

According to the report, the celebration is officially the Lower Saxony Day, which was first held in 1981 and now takes place every two years.

Hanover is the venue because the city is also celebrating its anniversary as the state capital.

There should be an official ceremony for the state anniversary on November 1st in the dome hall of the congress center in Hanover.
