The Dubai Criminal Court has sentenced a three-year prison sentence and a fine of 14 million 759 thousand and 475 dirhams against a sales executive in one of the two telecommunications services companies, on charges of stealing 244,000 credit-filling cards, valued at about 15 million dirhams, with which he bought luxury items. Including a Bentley car, most of it was given to his wife and children by her ex-husband.

A legal advisor in the victim organization said that the accused assumes the duties of a warehouse keeper in one of the corporation's business centers, and among his duties is to receive damaged shipping cards from customers, make sure that they are not used, and then exchange them for them with new cards.

He continued that among his tasks is to request balance cards from the main warehouses, after an inventory and determining the amount of cards he has in the branch, pointing out that the internal audit department discovered that the accused requested a large quantity of cards to replace them for the benefit of clients, claiming that their cards were damaged, and by comparing the quantity that His request, it turned out that it far exceeded the required number of branches, and he indicated that the cards he requested had been checked, and it was found that a replacement for it was not canceled, and that its value was estimated at 14 million and 759 thousand dirhams. The damaged cartons were left in the corridor of the branch, but by examination no cartons were found, then it was claimed that the management department in the branch disposed of those cartons.

So a report was opened about the incident, and as soon as the accused was removed from that job, the rate of demand for the replaced cards decreased by 90%, and it was also found that the accused, who earns about 17 thousand dirhams per month, has no income other than the job, owns a modern "Range Rover" car. With a very distinctive plate, in addition to two modern "Bentley" and "Nissan Patrol" cars, he wears a "Rolex" watch whose price is not less than 100,000 dirhams.

The defendant's wife said in the investigations of the Public Prosecution that he had three children from his ex-wife, and it was learned that the accused bought two distinct phone numbers from his ex-wife, and he used to charge them the two numbers weekly with recharge cards, and told him that he carried in his car a large amount of packing cards, as his wife admitted The accused likewise, and the case was referred to the Court of Appeal pending determination of the charges.

The accused stole 244,000 top-up cards from the company's warehouse.
