On the afternoon of January 22, a hostage-taking case occurred on Dongfeng West Road, Wuhua District, Kunming City.
At present, the suspect has been shot dead by the police and the hostages have been rescued.
At 6 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, the reporter arrived at the Yunnan Normal University Experimental Middle School at the scene of the case and saw that a man who took a student as a hostage with a knife was confronting the police outside the school gate. Schoolbags and other items were scattered on the scene.
The suspect asked the police to send mineral water.
Then, about five minutes after a woman delivered mineral water to the suspect's vicinity and unscrewed the water bottle, gunshots sounded at the scene. The suspect was shot to death and the child was rescued.
The police informed that the investigation of the case is underway.
