Kiel (dpa / lno) - From Monday, medical masks must be worn in local public transport and when shopping in Schleswig-Holstein.

Surgical masks or, for example, the somewhat more expensive FFP2 masks are required, everyday masks made of fabric are then no longer sufficient.

On Friday, the state government passed a new corona regulation.

It implemented the extension and tightening of the lockdown agreed on Tuesday by the federal and state governments until February 14 for Schleswig-Holstein.

The new mask requirement also applies to nursing homes and religious events.

On the other hand, there is good news for parents of young children.

From Monday, a special rule applies to contacts in the country.

Children up to three years of age are no longer counted, but are viewed as a unit with one parent.

Generally speaking, members of a household are only allowed to meet with one other person.

There are exceptions for the care of children under 14 years of age and those in need of care.

There will also be changes in German-Danish border traffic from Monday.

By decree, commuters will be obliged to submit a negative corona test, which may not be more than seven days old, in the future, analogous to the regulations in Denmark.
