According to the state-owned Xinhua News Agency, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress held in Beijing passed the "Marine Police Law" on the 22nd, which stipulates the duties and authority of the China Coast Guard, which is responsible for maritime security. The law includes the authority to forcibly exclude foreign vessels that have entered the territorial waters of China, etc., and use weapons when vessels engaged in illegal activities do not comply with stop orders and on-site inspections. Is stipulated to be accepted.



It also stipulates that buildings set up by foreign organizations and individuals in the sea areas and islands under the jurisdiction of China can be forcibly demolished.



The law will come into effect on February 1.



Around the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, the China Coast Guard ships continue to sail on a daily basis, and in some cases they have invaded the territorial waters and tracked Japanese fishing boats.
