Berlin (dpa) - A large majority of Germans do not believe that holidays in other European countries will be possible during the Easter holidays without quarantine or test obligations.

According to a survey by the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the German Press Agency, around 79 percent still expect corresponding restrictions.

Only around 12 percent believe that a carefree vacation abroad will then be possible.

About 10 percent gave no information.

Easter Sunday is April 4th this year.

The federal government has currently classified almost all of Europe as a corona risk area.

On the European mainland there are only individual regions in Greece, Finland, Norway and Austria that are excluded.

In addition, there are a large part of the Greek islands, the British island of Man and the channel island of Guernsey and the Danish island of Greenland.

Returnees from risk areas must be tested for Corona no later than 48 hours after entering Germany.

In addition, they have to be in quarantine for ten days, but can be exempted from this prematurely by a second negative test from the fifth day after entry.

The classification as a risk area occurs when a country or region exceeds the limit of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.

All German federal states are risk areas according to these criteria, like most other European countries.
