The spread of infection in Sweden is slowly beginning to decline, the Public Health Agency announced during Thursday's press conference.

But the virus can pick up speed again if you let go of the restrictions.

This in turn can lead to a possible third wave, said department head Karin Tegmark Wisell to Dagens Nyheter.

State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell has also previously warned that a third wave may be on the way.

- There is absolute potential for that.

We still have a large spread of infection at the bottom, we are in a season when this virus is obviously spread very easily, says Anders Tegnell to Aftonbladet.

Stefan Schwartz, professor of medical microbiology, does not think one should worry about a possible third wave.

- There is nothing that says that there will be a third wave or a risk for it, if you follow the recommendations that exist, Schwartz says.
