Bendorf (dpa / lrs) - After the chaos in the city administration of Bendorf near Koblenz due to a cyber attack, the computer systems are running again.

"Since this morning the city administration can be reached electronically again," said a city spokeswoman for the German press agency on Friday.

"The path of the attack could be traced, but the exact background is still being investigated or verified by internal and external bodies," she added.

According to the spokeswoman, data has not flowed out according to previous findings.

The hacker attack took place last weekend.

The citizen service was then only possible to a limited extent with telephone contacts.

The investigations were carried out at the Koblenz Police Department in cooperation with the Central Cybercrime Contact Point of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office and the Bendorf Police.
