Last September, a jogger was running in a wood in Ozoir-la-Ferrière in Seine-et-Marne when a young man attacked her from behind and strangled her with a cordon.

The victim struggles and scares the aggressor away.

The 16-year-old assailant was finally arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated violence.

In Seine-et-Marne, the alleged assailant of a jogger in Ozoir-la-Ferrière was arrested and indicted on Wednesday for aggravated violence.

He is suspected of having attacked the young woman last September in a wood, by tightening a cord around her neck.

But the victim had managed to get rid of it and his attacker had fled.

It was therefore found, and it would be a 16-year-old teenager.

Recognized by the victim

The young man was formally recognized by the victim during his police custody.

And it was she who also allowed her arrest, thanks to an incredible combination of circumstances: after her attack, the jogger had given a description of her attacker, too vague to identify him.

But a few weeks ago, a twist: she thinks she recognizes him in a store.

This time the investigators are taking a serious lead.

And there, surprise: the man in the store was ultimately not the aggressor ... but his big brother, who looks a lot like him.

And that's how the police traced them back to the 16-year-old.

A cord found at his home

Tuesday, he was arrested.

At home, in search, the investigators found the clothes described by the jogger as well as a cord similar to that with which she had been assaulted.

The teenager, so far unknown to the police and justice, did not confess.

Rather, he gives a confused speech on the facts with which he is accused, because of which a psychiatric expertise was requested.

In the meantime, he has been placed under judicial supervision by the juvenile judge.
