The "Room N" incident refers to a series of cyber crimes in South Korea.

According to media exposure, some people set up private paid chat groups on the instant messaging platform Telegram to share indecent photos of women, involving rape, serious insults to women, etc., with unsightly images and extremely cruel methods, including minors.

The incident caused an uproar.

"Room N" is operated by multiple people, among which the person who is nicknamed "Doctor" and whose real name is Zhao Zhubin is the most concerned.

Starting in 2019, Zhao Zhubin uploaded a large number of photos of suspected sex crimes in the "doctor's room" and blackmailed the victim.

  Zhao Zhubin’s accomplice, Jiang Xun, was only 18 years old and his online name was "Buda". He was mainly responsible for recruiting members for the "Doctor's Room" and also involved in the production and dissemination of sexual exploitation videos.

  Although Jiang Xun argued during the trial that the production of sexual exploitation videos and threats to the victims were Zhao Zhubin’s solo crimes, and denied the suspicion of organizing and committing collective crimes, the Ministry of Justice believes that Jiang Xun managed “with known circumstances”. According to Zhao Zhubin's instructions, Han had committed sexual violence to young victims.

  On November 26, 2020, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea made a first-instance verdict in the case of "Room N", sentenced the principal culprit Zhao Zhubin to 40 years in prison, and classified the criminal group "Room N" as a criminal group.

Subsequently, Zhao Zhubin and the prosecution appealed.

On January 26, 2021, the first public trial of the appeal trial (second instance) will be conducted.
